Description
A rare large yellow vintage teapot in a novelty design of a bale of hay/straw tied in the middle, hand painted with poppies and a scythe as the handle. Impressed England on the base, and marked 207 A, but no manufacturer mark. There were several of the Staffordshire potteries producing novelty teapots, such as Arthur Wood, Royal Winton, Burleighware, Beswick. Probably dating from the 1930’s.
Good condition, with no chips or cracks, some signs of wear and use, and some crazing to the glaze – see photos
Approximate measurements: 6″ high, 8.5″ long from tip of spout to edge of handle
